JOHN 8:31-36 THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE

31. So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ``If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32. and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." 33. They answered Him, ``We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, `You will become free'?" 34. Jesus answered them, ``Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35. ``The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36. ``So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

PROVERBS 10:27-32 THE WAY OF THE LORD

27. The fear of the LORD prolongs life, But the years of the wicked will be shortened. 28. The hope of the righteous is gladness, But the expectation of the wicked perishes. 29. The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, But ruin to the workers of iniquity. 30. The righteous will never be shaken, But the wicked will not dwell in the land. 31. The mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom, But the perverted tongue will be cut out. 32. The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverted.

JOHN 14:1-14 JESUS IS THE WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE

1. ``Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2. ``In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3. ``If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4. ``And you know the way where I am going." 5. Thomas said to Him, ``Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?" 6. Jesus said to him, ``I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. 7. ``If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." 8. Philip said to Him, ``Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." 9. Jesus said to him, ``Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, `Show us the Father'? 10. ``Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11. ``Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12. ``Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13. ``Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14. ``If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

PSALM 23 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

1. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

1 PETER 2:19-25 CHRIST AS AN EXAMPLE

19. For this finds favor, if for the sake of conscience toward God a person bears up under sorrows when suffering unjustly. 20. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favor with God. 21. For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, 22. WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; 23. and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24. and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

MATTHEW 18:10-14 THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP

10. ``See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11. [ `` For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.] 12. ``What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13. ``If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. 14. ``So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.

ACTS 2:42-47 THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE BELIEVERS

42. They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; 45. and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. 46. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47. praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

JOHN 10:1-10 CHRIST THE SHEPHERD

10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
